The Hip Society state’s their mission “is to advance the knowledge and treatment of hip disorders to improve the lives of our patients”. They also state their vision is to lead uncovering knowledge of hip disorders and their values are education, innovation, collaboration, integrity, inspiration, and achievement.

Research
You can easily locate the organization’s present work by clicking on the “Research” tab on their website. Currently, they are preparing for the RCT study, by Dr. Emil Schemitsch. This study deals with ORIF of B1 periprosthetic fractures. It is already receiving funds from OTA, but members are encouraged to participate also.
The 2020 Rothman-Ranawat Traveling Fellowship
The Hip Society offer a fellowship each year entitled, “The Rothman-Ranawat Traveling Fellowship”. This fellowship is available to four orthopaedic surgeons to visit ten sites in North America for conferences, surgical labs, cadaver labs, and interaction with researchers. The ten sites visited are meant to be state-of-the-art facilities for hip surgery.
